Santa Claus Is a Prepper

Did you know Santa Claus was a prepper?

This week on the Secrets of a Survivalist radio show Santa makes a special appearance and takes some time out of his busy holiday schedule to discuss how he lives on his self-sustaining homestead with his prepper community of little people just north of the Arctic Circle.  Find out how they grow food, raise livestock, get milk, eggs, and the ingredients needed for pumpkin pie from his sustainable greenhouse.  Find out what they do for fun and how they keep their sanity in their isolated environment. And find out what Santa thinks about what is going on in the world, about children today, and how we as parents can better prepare them for the world as we know it.  Find out why Santa thinks a simpler lifestyle would be good for everyone, and how we can all help to put tradition and the real meaning back into Christmas.

And find out about Santa’s website where you can play games, meet the elves and send him a letter and your wish-list for Christmas.

Whether you are a child, or a child at heart- this is a great prepping show to listen to with your whole family!

Merry Christmas to all!

Peace on Earth.

Good will toward men.

The Truth Behind Winter Clothing, Winter Safety Made Real, Part 5

The previous four parts of WSMR have presented the physical science and physiological principles behind staying warm in winter.  If you can keep all parts of your body warm, then winter and cold weather are not an issue.  Once you know how things actually work you can find or build whatever you may need.

With all of this back ground, in today’s class and subsequent classes we will be applying this new understanding to take care of the body with proper clothing, nutrition, attitudes and practices. When properly executed there can be no suffering in the cold and cold injuries impossible.

We’ll explore where layering fits in the scheme of winter clothing, what their limits and problems are along with how to tune them up for best performance.  The last third of the program will be on clothing evaluation to give you an idea of how to look at winter clothing with performance in mind and not just rely on slick ads, hangtags and well meaning salesmen expounding habits and traditions used in the winter.

Jim Phillips is a nationally known speaker and teacher who has professionally taught thousands of classes all across the United States for 40 years.

Jim is a strong advocate of self-reliance living and family preparedness.  He developed an entire preparedness curriculum by asking himself the question “What if?” and then setting out to discover what actually does and does not work.

Winter Safety & Self Reliant Living Made Real, Part 2

Join Jim as he discusses cold weather survival and preparedness part 3. In this episode, he talks about heat loss via radiation, thermal conductivity, clothing insulators, and much, much more.

Presented in Part-1 of Winter Safety Made Real was the footing for this whole WSMR series: the purpose and approach to winter safety, along with “Why Winter Experiences Fail”, “The Taboos of Cold Weather”, “The Wives’ Tales of Winter”, and An Introduction to PALS™.

Part-2 presents the key points and performance possibilities using PALS™ (the Phillips Arctic Living System™) and why Jim does what he does and the benefit it can bring others.  One of the most important parts in this presentation will be the in depth explanation of the body’s physiological response to the cold and the key steps to keeping hands and feet warm.  Possessing this understanding alone can dramatically change a person’s comfort and safety in the cold.

Massad Ayoob on Home Invasions

He’s Chuck Norris’ Chuck Norris, if ya know what I mean.

Seriously, if you care anything about upholding the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution and you don’t know who Massad is yet, you’re in for a treat. He’s written tons, continues to author articles, is a coveted guest lecturer, expert witness, and a living resource who is as witty as he is kind.

This audio comes from a YouTube video that I just happened across. I don’t own the copyright and it’s presented here so that folks can visit Massad’s website, register for his courses, purchase his instructional DVDs, look for his works, and support his efforts.

As always, remember…

You must always follow the 4 RULES OF GUN SAFETY:
1. Treat every gun as if it is loaded.
2. Do not point a gun at anything you do not wish to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to shoot.
4. Be aware of your backstop and what is beyond the target.
